I think that this is a great idea. We have an Educational Assistance Program for those currently working for us, so why would we not allow for some reimbursement for the education of newly hired employees. Currently full-time employees receive 100% assistance up to $2,500, then 50% assistance of the remaining eligible expenses per calendar year. If We only matched 50% of the student loan payment. The average student loan of $4716 a year that would be matched at $2,358 and that is less than the current allotment for working employees. I do like the idea of having a 3-year waiting period and then being vested.
